Nau mai, Haere mai – Welcome to St Joseph’s Morrinsville School

Our School Logo

Our school logo is rich in meaning and reflects who we are as a Catholic learning community.

At the centre is a heart, reminding us that love is at the core of everything we do – love for God, love for others, and love for learning. It reflects our commitment to nurturing a caring, compassionate, and faith-filled environment where every person is valued.

Emerging from and connected to the heart is a cross, the central symbol of our Catholic faith, representing Jesus’ sacrifice, hope, and eternal life. This cross is also designed as a koru and an infinity symbol, blending together cultural, spiritual, and aspirational meanings:

The koru, from the unfurling fern frond, is a powerful Māori symbol of growth, new beginnings, and the nurturing of potential – just like the journey our students take from the moment they join our school.

The infinity shape symbolises the never-ending love of God and the lifelong nature of our learning and relationships.

Together, the heart and cross show that our faith is lived out through love, service, and connection. The koru and infinity remind us of our place in Aotearoa New Zealand, our respect for tangata whenua, and our call to grow continuously in faith, knowledge, and community.

Our logo is more than an image – it is a visual expression of our vision: guided by faith, connected in purpose, and growing together as lifelong learners.
